Listed in an Anglo-Saxon Chronicle of 969 as Wafundun, Wavendon as we know it today is a rural village integrated with the larger conurbation of Milton Keynes. The 18-hole Wavendon Golf Club boasts a driving range, restaurant and full club shop mere minutes away, while The Stables – the brainchild of jazz pioneers Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine, the latter of whom still lives there – has grown over the years to host internationally renowned acts.
